    SPRING AT THE KITCHEN PLOT

    Spring has sprung at our Kitchen Plot and it’s a sight to behold even on a rainy Tuesday! Our bulbs are putting on a beautiful show, bringing a burst of colour to the grey skies. Meanwhile, our potatoes are chitting along well. We’re playing the waiting game for some drier weather before planting them out. Our Chinese cabbage got a little TLC today – we found some sneaky slugs hiding in the folded inner leaves, but they’ve been officially evicted! And our homemade compost is like rocket fuel for our greenhouse seedlings – they’re shooting up faster than ever! However there is some additional unwanted greenery from our homemade compost…

    JANUARY IS THRIVING WITH ACTIVITY!

    January may be languishing, but we’re thriving in productivity here on the plot! Our compost game is on point with the compost committee ensuring it’s quick, efficient, and producing that rich, crumbly black gold. Thanks to this magic soil and mild temps, our greenhouse is bursting with life this January! Our new compost bay is almost complete—just waiting on the roof—and the first bay is already hard at work. Soon, we’ll be moving the old compost crates to the Kitchen Plot for even more garden goodness. Today, we planted kale and radish, fortified our bean trellis, and prepped more beds for planting.
