Rooted Community Food Eastbourne Tuesday Sessions
Sessions

SPRING AT THE KITCHEN PLOT

Spring has sprung at our Kitchen Plot and it’s a sight to behold even on a rainy Tuesday! Our bulbs are putting on a beautiful show, bringing a burst of colour to the grey skies.

Meanwhile, our potatoes are chitting along well. We’re playing the waiting game for some drier weather before planting them out.

Our Chinese cabbage got a little TLC today – we found some sneaky slugs hiding in the folded inner leaves, but they’ve been officially evicted!

And our homemade compost is like rocket fuel for our greenhouse seedlings – they’re shooting up faster than ever! However there is some additional unwanted greenery from our homemade compost so micro-weeding is our new zen therapy, and guess what? Our mystery brassica has revealed itself as broccoli!

Gardening is full of surprises and joy.
