Blue Heart Funding for Our Climate Resilient Garden!
We’re thrilled to share that our Climate Resilient Garden project has won Blue Heart funding! This support will help us transform the Kitchen Plot on Gorringe Road, Eastbourne, into a creative and sustainable growing hub.
Over the next six months, we’ll build adaptable growing beds, focusing on flood and drought resistance. Our goal is to trial innovative techniques that inspire the local community. We’ll also host engaging activities to involve residents and strengthen connections.
In August, the project will wrap up with an open garden event. There, we’ll showcase our climate resilience trials. By sharing what we’ve learned, we hope to empower others to embrace sustainable gardening. Growing food can be both rewarding and fun—even as the climate changes.
Join Us!
The CRG team meets every Monday from 4–6 pm.
If you’d like to be part of this evolving and exciting climate-resilient project, please check out the CRG session pages and email Sally. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, no previous experience necessary, just bring an open mind, a collaborative spirit, and perhaps some afternoon tea to share. Children are welcome to join the fun, too. This isn’t a polished or rigid session – but it promises to be a hands-on creative and collaborative experience!

The goal of Blue Heart is to try out innovative ways to predict and mitigate the impact of flooding in Eastbourne and southern Wealden. This will benefit local people, businesses and the environment. What they learn will also help inform projects around the UK and beyond.
